In a attempt to find out what the best enema coffee to use for my daily coffee breaks. I started searching the web for the answer, it seems there are a number of different coffee enema brands all claiming to be the best for coffee enemas. Since most felt they had some reasonable argument as to why theirs would be the best for coffee enemas, I decided I had to come up with a different approach.
What Better way to find out, I thought, then to ask the experts, the people who have done all the research on coffee enemas and have made their decisions based on results not just a sales pitch or exaggerated claims and that don’t sell Enema Coffee themselves. In short, people who had nothing to gain from recommending a coffee except knowing they were helping people heal. It wasn’t a easy challenge, finding experts who recommend enema coffee but don’t sell any coffee themselves. Almost all people recommending enema coffee are indeed profiting from the sale of one brand or another, which made their feedback a little bias.
Here are the experts I found, Gar Hildenbrand, without a doubt the most recognized expert on the subject of coffee enemas, and the scientific effects and benefits of them. Ann Fonfa, Cancer survivor and founder of the Annie Appleseed Project. Dr. William Donald Kelley one of the Pioneers of the use of coffee enemas, Dr. Antonio Jimenez, Founder of Hope4Cancer Hospitals, Dr. Lawrence Wilson, nutritional consultant and author, Dr. Ryan Ferchoff, a doctor of Naturopathic Medicine practicing at a number of clinics in the U.S.A., Linnette M. Beck, AP, DOM, Dipl. Ac. (NCCAOM) who honestly has too many acclamations to mention here.
But first a quick look at how the enema coffees compare

Ann Fonfa founder of The Annie Appleseed Project website.Ann was diagnosed with breast cancer in January 1993. She explored alternative therapies and started a study group in New York City. From summaries of the 60 or so meetings this group held, Ann posted a website in June 1999 under the name The Annie Appleseed Project. It is now a 501(c)3 nonprofit corporation serving 85,000 people monthly via the Internet.
Ann Fonfa Review Starting in the late 1990’s I began using this coffee. The quality is great. I use it specifically for health reasons – I now do one coffee enema a day ( I used to do 4 a day). I know that S.A.Wilson’s Gold Roast Coffee contains more of the important elements for coffee enemas. The company ships quickly and the website is very consumer friendly (that’s important to me). I am sure this high-quality blend has positively impacted me. As the founder of The Annie Appleseed Project I hear from many people who tell me of their satisfaction with your product.
Creating health has been the life’s work of Dr. William Donald Kelley. He held numerous degrees from Baylor University, University of Alabama, and the University of West Virginia in dentistry, orthodontics, chemistry, education and physiology. Dr. Kelley successfully designed holistic healing programs for his patients suffering from cancer, heart disease, allergies, arthritis, and other maladies.
Dr. Kelley was a metabolic researcher and creator of four holistic medical concepts considered the most advanced in their field; Non Specific Metabolic Therapy, The Science of Optimum Health, Metabolic Ecology, and Metabolic Typing. Linda Clark, of the prestigious Price-Pottinger Foundation has stated, “I consider Dr. Kelley’s work the most important nutritional discovery in the last 150 years.”
Dr. Kelley first applied his metabolic program on his own family. He helped his own children overcome serious allergy and asthma problems. In addition, he solved what is considered incurable – metastasized pancreatic cancer in his own body. Ridding himself of his disease was only the first of many “impossible” problems that Dr. Kelley achieved.
His experience with over 33,000 patients leads him to believe that balancing body chemistry through nutrition is the answer to abundant health. Dr. Kelley states, “If we don’t change the whole course of health care, we won’t have accomplished a thing.” He was constantly seeking ways to accomplish his goal of growing and preserving food that will make the “natural” medicine God intended it to be!
Review by John Kelley, (Dr. Kelley’s son and current head of Dr. Kelley’s College health Store)
For over 20 years our Kelley family has entrusted S.A. Wilson’s Coffee to help with colon cleansing on Dr. Kelley program. Dr. Kelley was thankful to find coffee made specifically for coffee enemas which is a most important part of detoxing the body. College Health Stores LLC. makes it our one and only coffee to recommend on our program and highly suggest it a important part of a healthier way of life and is used personally by our family.

Enema coffee Review by Dr. Antonio Jimenez“At Hope4Cancer, we looked high and low to find the best organic coffee for our enema patients. We have found S.A. Wilson Gold Roast Coffee to be the best. It is 100 percent certified organic and purchased from small independent farmer co-operatives who hand pick the coffee. They also are one of the few Certified Organic Coffee Processors, which means every single step in the production of their enema coffee and the operation of their facility has been certified to meet organic standards.
We find that a coffee high in caffeine and palmitic acid is best for the coffee enema. S.A. Wilsons Gold Roast Coffee has been specifically blended and processed with higher levels of both. Independent lab tests show that their coffee is up to 48 percent higher in caffeine and up to 87 percent higher in palmitic acid. S.A. Wilson Gold Roast Coffee is the only coffee we recommend when doing coffee enemas.”

Enema Coffee Review By Dr. Lawrence Wilson
In our opinion, the best coffee to use is a medium or dark roast coffee. Research in Molecular Nutrition & Food Research found that dark roast coffee restored blood levels of the antioxidants vitamin E and glutathione more effectively than light roast coffee. The dark roast also led to a significant body weight reduction in pre-obese volunteers, whereas the light roast did not. Separate research also showed that dark roast coffee produces more of the chemical, N-methylpyridinium. This chemical is produced during the roasting process, and the darker the roast, the more N-methylpyridinium is present.Caffeine levels vary depending on the degree of roasting of the coffee. However, darker roasts often contain less caffeine than lighter roasts. Some people suggest a light roast coffee, “gold roast” or golden-colored coffee. This tends to be more yin in macrobiotic terms because it is cooked less. This is not desirable for development and, in our opinion, one should avoid it. Companies that sell these products include Purelife Health Equipment®, SA Wilson® and Theracoffee®. Also, at this time, in our opinion, it is best to avoid all “enema coffee” because we believe there may be possible problems with it.
Good coffees for enemas include South American coffees. We are not sure why this is so, but these seem to work well.
A less-oily coffee is best. Some coffee beans are quite oily, while other coffees are quite dry. We suggest using one that is drier, not oily. The reason is that the oil can be rancid, adding a toxin to the coffee.
Non-moldy coffee is best. Fresher coffee is better in this regard. Otherwise, this is hard to identify.
Organically grown is better. It usually contains less pesticide residue, which is beneficial.
Buy coffee beans and grind them yourself. This is a little more work, but the coffee will be much fresher.
Keep coffee in the refrigerator
NOTE: Some people must try a number of brands of coffee in order to find a coffee that works well for them.

Enema Coffee Review by Linnette M. Beck, AP, DOM, Dipl. Ac. (NCCAOM)
“As a Functional Medicine professional and detox specialist for the last 23+ years, I can say without hesitation that detox is NOT as simple as most people want to believe. In fact, I’ve gotten to the point that I no longer use the word detox, but instead I use the words ‘mobilization’ and ‘clearing’. Most physicians only consider the biochemical biotransformation of the lipid soluble toxin to it’s water soluble form and all the other steps involved with toxin mobilization and elimination.
Over the years however, it has become abundantly clear more and more patients have what appears to be sub-clinical cholestasis – ie: Bile (laden with toxins) from the liver is not being released or flowing optimally. Granted there are herbs that can help bile flow, but nothing works as good and effectively as the good ol’ low tech coffee enema. But which coffee to use? Of course it must be organic. But will any organic coffee do? Having taken hundreds of coffee enemas myself, I can say without doubt coffee is NOT coffee.
SA Wilson’s coffee is the ONLY coffee that I personally and professionally use to have the desired glutathione elevation and bile stimulation effect without the coffee jitters. Although most patients are hesitant to do the coffee enema at first, without exception they rave about the results, and like me, call their coffee enema experience a near ‘meditation experience’.”
